In the garden

Afternoon crafting friends , hope your well . The weather has been nice here , it was my birthday on Saturday, Summer Solstice  , it was good because the weather was warm and the sky clear allowing a really (longest day ) . We had a lovely meal at my Mums with my hubby , who is soon to be 50 , giving me then my Mum piggyback ride around the garden , all after a few G&T's ...lol...

My card today is Summery and floral with pretty pastels. The card was bought as a polka dot card (a pack of 8 in 4 colours ) from hobby craft. I've made my own embellishments using a wide variety of dies and punches . The papers used are first edition , spring drop. The adhesive button are from Hobby craft. I added some faux stitching with a fine brown marker and stamped a sentiment from a secret garden clear stamp set.

Happy Hoppers make a wish

Weathers improved at last , lovely to feel warm , we had a lovely walk on the Wirral on Monday , along the marshes looking over to North Wales, and then enjoyed a pint at "The Harp " sat outside with the poodles  watching the wildlife . Poor Hudson got a bit hot and tired on the walk back so Bob and I carried him for a while,  good job he's only a toy poodle not a Labrador, he is near 14 after all but so is Alfie and he's fit as a flea.  Isn't life so much better in the Summer months! One bad point though I was bitten on the elbow by a mossie , it's all hard and weeping now , I always have a nasty reaction .

My card today features a really cute image from the " Gruffies and happy Hoppers" d rom from Joanna Sheen as is the sentiment. The bp is from pink petticoat , I've added 2 die cut stars from sizzix and a little blue bird button and 2 gems . The sentiment stamped in my card is by Penny Black.

Milestones and Moments

I've used a Sheen Douglas stamp( an oldie but defiantly a goodie) from a set called "milestones and moments", I like it beacause the image is great for a man or a woman and it's lovely to colour. I used my pro and flex markers , many shades of green and grey . The sky took awhile to get it just as I wanted it .
The papers are from a 12x12 pack by dovecraft , and are new out . The sentiment is from a clear stamp set by hobby art called inspirations. The follage die is from tattered lace, it comes as a free die set when you order a certain amount of tattered lace dies from Hobby Craft on line. My card is an 8x8 square.
I think this card would make a lovely birthday or anniversary card for the  special man in your life.

Rose Garden

Creative stamping magazine issue 17 has a gorgeous set of 16 rose garden themed stamps as the free gift , the mag only costs 5.99 so this is an excellent buy , they stamp nicely too. I coloured the image with pro and flex makers. The die cut is a sizzix fancy oval . The pb and the insert are from a first edition 6x6 pad called family ties. I used 2 organza ribbons in grey and lemon down the sides and made a double bow with the lemon colour using the Jak Heath technic

. I stamped the sentiment from the set , what a lovely saying . onto a heart punch from wood ware and inked the edges. A touch of stickles in yellow  on the roses and some liquid pearls on the hat ribbon trim for the final flourish .
